Raleigh, North Carolina - Duquesne University's women's 4 x 400 meter relay team set a school outdoor record Saturday at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track on the NC State campus. The quartet broke a mark set in 1999 at this same event.

The team finished the race in 3:54.45 which was good for 8th in the 23 school competition. The existing school record, 3:57.27, was set by the team of Liz Bollens, Sarah Saunders, LynnDee Howell and Adjoa Taylor.

This is the second new school mark set at this prestigious event. On Friday, freshman Erica Moody established the new 400 meter standard, besting the record Howell set in 2000.

The Dukes return to action next Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Championship at Carnegie Mellon's Gesling Stadium in Pittsburgh.
