Moody, Parker Win Events at Duke Invitational

DURHAM - The Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the 2008 Duke Asics Invitational this weekend. Highlighting the event were wins by Erica Moody and Kathleen Parker. The 4x400m team of Melissa Miller, Parker, Charlene Garth and Moody finished 3:53.73, less than half a second off the school record set in 2006.
Moody took first place in the 400m crossing in 57.95, winning the event by nearly a second. Parker held off Charlotte's Nicole Quagloana by less than a quarter second to win the 800m with a time of 2:19.34. The event had the largest field on the even with over 75 runners.
In the long jump, Sierra Larsuel placed eighth in a field on 36 with a distance of 17-3.25. Garth finished 11th in the 800m with a time of 2:21.81. Amanda Collins placed 14th in the 400m hurdles finishing in 1:08.3.
Up next for the Dukes is the Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday.
