Women's Track Participates at Bison Outdoor Classic
Brittney Edwards set a school record in the triple jump

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the 2012 Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University.

The Dukes had several ECAC qualifying times: Shannon Abraham (400m/55.77), Amber Valimont (5000m/16:59.48), Meg Ecker (10,000m/35:13.18), Nichole Cherok (400m hurdles/1:01.15), Danica Snyder (Steeplechase/10:49.30), 4x100 team of Cherok, Abraham, Taylor Glenn and Tacquaya Tobias (47.68), 4x400 team of Cherok, Brittany Sinclair, Anna Simone and Abraham (3:49.24), 4x800 team of Elise Farris, Colleen Gilmore, Shelby Haitz and Haley Pisarcik (9:12.84), Chelsea Zahn (Discus/142-5),

Ecker's 5000m time broke a school record previously held by Samantha Howard in 2009 and Cherok's 400m hurdles time broke her school record set last season. Tobias set school record in the 100m with a time of 12.14 and Arin Whitman broke her school record in the hammer with a throw of 156-7.

Edwards also qualified in the long and triple jumps (19-0.5 and 40-5). The triple jump mark broke a school record by Shea McMillan that has stood since 2004.

The Dukes return to Lewisburg this upcoming weekend for the Bucknell Team Challenge.
