Indoor Track Opens Season at YSU Icebreaker
Tacquaya Tobias had four top 5 finishes at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN - The Duquesne women's track and field teams opened their 2012-13 indoor seasons on Saturday afternoon at the YSU Icebreaker held at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).

Tacquaya Tobias had a strong outing - finishing first in the 60m (7.74), fifth in the 200m (26.05), second in the long jump (18-9.25) and was on the 4x400m team with Abbie O'Connell, Domonique Wilson and Angela Hartz ) that won its heat and finished fourth overall (4:11.10).

In the 400m, the Dukes took five of the top 10 spots - Nicole Cherok (1st/56.80), O'Connell (2nd/57.57), Shannon Abraham (4th/58.33), Anna Simone (5th/58.65) and Taylor Glenn (10th/1:00.73).

Simone and Hartz were fifth and sixth in the 60m hurdles with times of 9.21 and 9.26 respectively.

The 4x400m team of Abraham, Cherok, Glenn, Simone were first with a time of 3:52.41.

In the field events, Sherie Key was fourth in the high jump (5-5), Franki DiSalvo was seventh in the pole vault (10-10), Brittney Edwards was third (18-7.25) and Key (17-8.25) fourth in the long jump. Edwards was second (37-10.75) and Key fourth 37-6.5) in the triple jump. Korrey Willis (42-10.5) and Chelsea Zahn (40-11) were fourth and seventh in the shot put.



The Dukes are off until after Christmas break. They open 2013 at Kent State for the two-day. Golden Flash Gala.
