Behind the Duke Episode 2: "The Interns"
April 19, 2013
"Behind the Duke: The Interns"
"Behind The Duke" is the Duquesne Athletics Department's first short documentary/film series. In its premiere episode, we featured Senior Guard Sean Johnson of the Men's Basketball team capturing his personality and athleticism in the events preceding the first game of his senior season. We are proud to announce the second episode will illuminate the experiences of our Media Relations interns, Allison White, Ian Welch, Shannon Chavez and Sherie Key, as well as our Graduate Assistant Jay Spinks.
"Behind the Duke: The Interns" gives a behind the scenes look at all of the interns' tasks and their efforts whether during the in-game experience of filming games and setting up post-game interviews, or even producing the music for specific video segments and brainstorming for new projects. Each intern discusses how the internship has benefitted them and what they have gained from their experiences interning within athletics.
The short film demonstrates the overall experience of Graduate Assistant Jay Spinks, shedding light on his journey through traveling and working first hand with each of our varsity teams as well as creating in-house productions such as Dukes 1-On-1, Behind the Duke, and even the day in the life videos for Women's Swimming and Women's Volleyball. The film will document his motives behind the creation of some of the segments we have developed and his interaction with the interns to turn these ideas into productions.
