PRINCETON, N.J. - The 24th ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship took place at Princeton University's William Weaver Track and Field Stadium this weekend. Melissa Stewart represented Duquesne in the discus throw while Samantha Howard participated in the 5,000 meter run.

Stewart's throw of 148-08 was seventh best in a field of 35 throwers.

Howard crossed 20th with a time of 18:34.18 in the 5,000 meter run.

Howard and Stewart participated in the ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships last season. In 2006, Howard finished 17th in the 5,000 meter run and Stewart took seventh in the discus.

Stewart, along with Brianne Scott (3,000 Meter Steeplechase) will be the NCAA Regional Championships May 25 in Gainesville, Fla.
