NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team was announced on Thursday, with this year's team highlighted by four Duquesne student-athletes.

Shannon Abraham, Ashley Adams, Nicole Cherok and Amber Valimont all earned places on the squad.

Abraham who was on the 4x400 team that won silver at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships was also named to the Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team in March. She is a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Abraham is a marketing major with a GPA of 4.0.

Adams, a six-time A-10 medalist, was on the 2012 Indoor A-10 Academic All-Conference Team. She is a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Adams is a pharmacy major with a GPA of 3.95.

Cherok won gold in the 400m hurdles at the A-10 Championships with time of 58.62, breaking an A-10 record that has stood since 1999, and silver in the 4x400. She qualified for the NCAA DI East Outdoor Preliminary Round in the 400m hurdles. She is a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Cherok is a pharmacy major with a GPA of 3.46.

Valimont was a gold medal winner in the steeplechase at the A-10 Championships and is a five-time A-10 medal winner. She is a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Valimont is a nursing major with a GPA of 3.58.
