NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team was announced on Friday, with this year's team highlighted by four Duquesne student-athletes.

The Dukes, who had the most members on the team, were represented by Shannon Abraham, Ashley Adams, Sherie Key and Haley Pisarcik.

Abraham, who was named to the Indoor All-Academic team in March, holds four school records - indoor 4x400m and DMR as well as the outdoor 4x100m and 4x400m . She is a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Abraham is a finance major with a GPA of 3.97.

Adams has won seven A-10 medals (5 outdoor, 2 indoor) and holds the school record in the indoor and outdoor shot put. She is coming off an A-10 Championship where she won bronze in the shot put and discus. She was named to the 2011 and 2013 Outdoor All-Academic teams and the 2011 and 2012 Indoor All-Academic teams. Adams is a pharmacy major with GPA of 3.90.

Key is coming off an A-10 Championship where she won gold and set school record in high jump and won silver in the triple jump. A five-time A-10 medal winner who also holds the indoor high jump record, Key is a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. She is a public relations & advertising major with a 3.83 GPA.

Pisarcik, , who was named to the Indoor All-Academic team in March, won silver in 1500m and was on 4x800m team that won bronze at A-10 Outdoor Championship. A four-time A-10 medal winner, Pisarcik holds five school records - indoor 1000m, 4x800m and DMR as well as the outdoor 1500m and 4x800m. A psychology major and a member of the Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Pisarcik has a GPA of 3.63.

 

 

The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors
