Fyalkowski, Morris Earn A-10 All-Academic Team Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.
- After garnering CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District® honors on Tuesday, Duquesne's Rachel Fyalkowski (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) were named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday, league officials announced. 

The Academic All-Conference teams are comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their athletic and academic performance. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors.

Fyalkowski has posted a 4.0 GPA in her graduate program of education (grades Pre-K through 4) after compiling a 3.92 GPA as an undergraduate student studying psychology. She placed seventh in the shot put (12.77m) and ninth in the hammer throw (47.39m) at the 2018 A-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship. In addition, her mark of 47.39 meters in the hammer throw is good for fourth in school history. 

Morris has recorded a 3.98 cumulative GPA in education (grades 4 through 8) while finishing fourth in the 5,000-meter run (17:03.10) and fifth in the 10,000-meter run (35:55.19) at the 2018 A-10 Outdoor Championship. Her time in the 10,000-meter run ranks fourth all-time in program history.
