PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne volleyball team improved to 7-1 overall after going a perfect 4-0 at the 2012 Duquesne/RMU Invitational.

Today, the Dukes defeated Loyola 3-1 and Bucknell 3-0. Yesterday DU was a 3-0 winner over Providence and Norfolk State.

Allison Foschia was named the event's Most Outstanding Player after recording 48 kills, 42 digs and hitting .380 Arielle Love (33 kills/.403) and Ashley Buse (37 kills/.465/11 blocks) were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The day began with a 25-14, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21 victory over Loyola. Five Dukes recorded 10 or more kills led by Sara Scheirman's 12. She also added a team-high 13 digs. Foschia also had a double-double of 10 and 11.Mary Henry recorded 45 assists and Love and Buse hit .529 and .542 respectively.

The event was capped with a 25-18, 25-22, 25-22 win over Bucknell. Love and Foschia had 15 kills each. Foschia also had 13 digs.

Next up for the Dukes is Saint Francis in Loretto. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
