Day 2: Duquesne Invitational

PITTSBURGH - The Dukes went 2-0 in Day 2 of the Duquesne Invitational, defeating Canisius in four sets and picking up a straight-set victory over Robert Morris on Saturday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Duquesne defeated Canisius in four sets (25-16, 25-22, 15-25, 25-15)
  • Maddie Bazelak led the Dukes in both matches, with 13 kills and nine digs against Canisius and a double-double of 17 kills and 10 digs against RMU 
  • Abbie Trzeciak had 12 kills, hitting .524 against the Golden Griffins
  • The Dukes swept Robert Morris (25-20, 25-22, 25-20)
  • Maria Mosbacher had 15 kills against the Colonials 
STATS OF THE TOURNAMENT: 
  • Molly Davet's first dig in the match against Canisius marked her 1,000th career
  • Duquesne is now 33-8 against Robert Morris all-time, the Dukes have won 10 straight against the Colonials
