Volleyball Falls to #1 Nebraska 3-0
LINCOLN - The Duquesne volleyball team fell to #1 Nebraska 3-0 on Friday afternoon in their second of three matches at the Ameritas Players Challenge. The scores of the sets were 25-7, 25-12 and 25-20. The Dukes were led by Arielle Love with seven kills and Mary Henry with 17 assists. Sara Scheirman and Allison Foschia recorded eight digs apiece. The Cornhuskers' Lauren Cook, a 2011 First-Team All-Big Ten and AVCA Honorable Mention All-America selection had a match-high 33 assists. Gina Mancuso, a 2011 AVCA First-Team All-America honoree and unanimous First-Team All-Big Ten selection, had a match-high 15 kills. Nebraska led from wire-to-wire in the first two sets. In the third set, the Dukes built an 18-15 lead midway through, but the Huskers outscored them 10-2 down the stretch to close out the set and the match. DU (8-3) concludes weekend action against Oklahoma tomorrow evening. MATCH NOTES
