Dukes Dropped By Robert Morris, 3-1

Moon Township, Pa. - Duquesne University's volleyball team, back from a weekend tournament in Houston, Texas, dropped their Tuesday night match to Robert Morris by a 3-1 (30-26, 24-30, 30-23, 32-30) score at the Colonials' Sewell Center.
The Dukes were led by senior middle hitter Sarah Morrow (Baytown, Texas/ Robert E. Lee) who had a team-high 18 kills, 10 digs and five block assists. Junior outside hitter Ashley Macko (Pittsburgh, Pa./ South Park) finished with 12 kills, while sophomore libero Karisa Decker (Pittsburgh, Pa./ North Allegheny) and junior outside hitter Erin Trageser (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Baldwin) both finished with team-high 15 digs. Senior setter Sarah Brown (Glen Rock, Pa./ Susquehannock) again paced the Dukes with 32 assists.
Robert Morris was led by junior middle blocker Rachel Leitch, who tallied a career-high 22 kills. Leitch, who finished with a .386 hitting percentage, was also a dominate force on defense as she had five solo blocks and two block assists, as well as five digs. Junior setter Darcey Miller contributed 44 assists, four kills, one ace, nine digs and one block assist in three games.
This was the Colonials' first win over Duquesne since a 3-2 result on Oct. 20, 1992. Duquesne's record is now 4-4 while RMU improves their mark to 6-2.
The Dukes next head to San Jose, Calif. for the three-game SJSU/ Crowne Plaza Invitational with Cal State Northridge. The Dukes' first match is Friday, Sept. 12th at 4:00 pm EDT with host San Jose State.
