Volleyball Takes Robert Morris 3-1

The Dukes volleyball team improved its record to 10-5 overall with a 3-1 victory over visiting Robert Morris (11-6) Tuesday night at the Palumbo Center. Duquesne's Ashley Macko led the match with 20 kills and added 12 digs. Sarah Morrow posted a match-best six blocks and a team-best 18 digs in the win as well. Robert Morris was led by Megan Bell with 17 kills and Julie Sector's match-best 20 digs.
Duquesne fell 23-30 in game one before rebounding and taking three straight for the victory. The Dukes won game two 30-23 after seeing a 21-21 tie. Game three was a back-and-forth battle with neither team holding more than a four-point edge before the Red & Blue took the 30-27 advantage. The fourth and deciding game saw the Dukes overcome a 7-3 deficit winning six consecutive points for a 9-7 edge. DU extended its lead to a 23-13 margin and never looked back as they grabbed a 30-20 decision for the match.
Sarah Brown led the offense with 53 assists.
The Dukes are back in action this weekend as they head to Dayton and Xavier to open A-10 play.
