Volleyball Holds off Saint Louis 3-2

ST. LOUIS - The Duquesne volleyball team is off its best conference start in 19 years after a 3-2 victory over Saint Louis on Friday night. The scores of the sets were 21-25, 25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 15-13. With the win, the Dukes improve to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Sara Scheirman led all players with 16 kills and added a season-high 20 digs. Ashley Buse tied a season-high with 13 kills and hit .478. Allison Foschia recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 18 digs. Mary Henry had a career-best 54 assists and added 15 digs. Arielle Love had a match-high eight blocks. Patti Abshire added 20 digs. As a team, the Dukes had a season-best 60 kills, 178 attempts, 22 blocks and 99 digs. Duquesne, winners of five straight matches, head to A-10 newcomer Butler Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Duquesne at Saint Louis
