Dukes Take Saint Peter's in Four

The Dukes volleyball team bounced back into winning form with a 3-1 victory (30-19, 26-30, 30-23, 30-24) at Saint Peter's Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match. The win puts the Dukes at 9-11 overall.

Stephanie Hopkins led the Dukes with 18 kills and added 13 digs and five assists while Ashley Macko had a team-best 14 digs. Setter Kristin Garnett led the offense with 44 assists.

Also posting strong marks were Diana Wuebker wtih six blocks, Erin Trageser wtih 12 digs and Karisa Decker wtih four service aces.

The Dukes and Peahens were equal in hitting with 51 kills, but DU has one of its strongest serving games with 16 aces. Saint Peter's won out in the blocking game wtih 10 team blocks (3 solo, 14 assists) to eight (1 solo, 14 assists).

The Red & Blue return to play this weekend as they head to Ohio for a two-match A-10 series at Dayton (Oct. 15) and Xavier (Oct. 16).
