QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne volleyball team fell 3-1 at Dayton Sunday afternoon.
Molly Davet and Madelynn Burnham combined for 20 kills, Camryn Vecera led the Dukes with 16 digs and Dani Suiter had 33 assists. Duquesne now stands at 16-8, 6-3 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, while sole A-10 leader Dayton improves to 22-1, 9-0.
SET 1: There were eight ties before Dayton would gain a three point margin late in the set to propel the Flyers to a 25-21 victory. Burnham's five kills would lead the Dukes, with Davet adding four kills and Vecera recording six digs.
SET 3: The teams would exchange leads four times, however Jessica Sloan's six kills lifted Dayton to a 25-15 set win. Davet added three kills and six digs for Duquesne, and Suiter recorded five assists.
SET 4: An early 10-2 run allowed Dayton to hold its lead throughout the set, with the lone tie occurring at the start. Burnham's four kills and Suiter's eight assists led Duquesne.
UP NEXT: The Dukes return to action at George Mason Friday night at 7 p.m. and conclude their road stretch with a match at George Washington Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
