Moon Township, Pa. - In a tough-fought battle between two area teams, the Duquesne University volleyball team grabbed a 3-2 max-game victory over Robert Morris Tuesday night at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The win (20-30, 30-26, 21-30, 30-25, 15-13) raised Duquesne's lead in the series to 23-6.

The Dukes had four players in double-digit kills and five in digs. Junior Amanda Haeg (New Prague, Minn. / New Prague) paced DU with a game-best 25 kills, sophomore Kristin Garnett (Frankfort, Ill. / Lincoln-Way East) assisted on 54 winners (also a game high) and freshman Laura Kastein (Huntsville, Ohio / Benjamin Logan) saved 24 digs. Senior Diana Wuebker (St. Henry, Ohio / St. Henry) added 12 kills, 16 digs and seven blocks (one solo).

The 10-12 Colonials were led by Alaina Gibson's game-best 35 diggs, Megan Bells' 20 kills and Tawnya Storino's 43 sets.

Duquesne (13-10) concludes the 2005 non-conference schedule on Saturday, October 29, 2005, in Baltimore, Md. at Morgan State University (10-17) at 4:00 p.m.
