Volleyball Falls to Dayton 3-0

PITTSBURGH - Dayton's Bethany Akerman and Lindsay Fletmier combined for 24 kills as the Flyers shutout Duquesne 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-20) Sunday afternoon.
With UD leading 10-8 in the first set, a Fletmier kill started Dayton on a 6-0 run to take a 16-8 advantage. DU only scored seven points the rest of the way as they fell 25-15.
In the second set, the Flyers jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back winning 25-12.
The Dukes could not reverse their fortune in the third set as the Flyers held off a late DU rally to take the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
The Dukes (15-10, 3-6) are off until Nov. 7 when they take on Atlantic 10 leader Saint Louis.
