Duquense Volleyball Sweeps Rhode Island

Kingston, R.I. - Duquesne University's volleyball team defeated Rhode Island 3-0 Saturday in Keaney Gymnasium by scores of 31-29, 30-24, 30-25. Diana Wuebker led Duquesne with 11 kills and only three errors in 20 attacks to hit .400. Wuebker also had eight digs and seven block-assists.
The Rams' Amy Kauppila led Rhode Island with 11 kills and notched her 11th double-double of the season with 11 digs. Kaleena Miller recorded nine kills and 10 digs.
The win raises the Dukes record to 12-14, 5-5 in Atlantic 10 competition. URI is now 11-15, 6-4 in league play.
Duquesne heads to Dayton next weekend for a 7:00 p.m. match Friday, November 7, 2003 followed by a Saturday afternoon match at Xavier at 4:00 p.m.
