Red & Blue Fall 3-1 to Visiting Xavier

The Duquesne women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Atlantic 10 decision (22-30, 30-27, 21-30, 27-30) to visiting Xavier Friday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center. The loss puts the Dukes 14-11 overall, 4-6 in A-10 play while the Musketeers improve to 17-10 overall, 9-3 in Conference action.

Amanda Haeg (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) led the four Dukes in double digits kills with 17 followed by Lindsay Hess (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry) with 13 and 10 each from Dana McLaughlin (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) and Monica Tinsley (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods). Diana Wuebker (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry) led the match with 21 digs and tied the team lead with four blocks. Tinsley also rejected four attacks for the Red & Blue.

Xavier was paced by Kate Duchek's 25 kills and Jenn Welsh's 16 digs. Jill Quayle led the match with six blocks.

Xavier held a 72-58 edge in kills and had an 85-83 digs advantage. The Dukes posted 13 team blocks to the Musketeers' 10.

The Dukes close out the home slate this Sunday hosting Dayton at 1:00 pm at the Palumbo Center for Senior Day.
