Volleyball Earns Academic Award

The Duquesne University's women's volleyball team has been named a 2003-04 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award honoree. Forty-six Division I institutions were recognized for maintaining at least a 3.30 team cumulative team grade point average on a 4.00 scale for the 2003-04 academic year. In all, the AVCA named 304 volleyball programs ranging from high school to the Division I level. Duquesne posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.690 for the entire academic year, ranking the Dukes second only to Troy State's 3.810 GPA. Individually, 10 student-athletes were named to the 2003-04 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.00 GPA or better) while senior Sarah Morrow (Baytown, Texas/Robert E. Lee) was lauded to the 2003 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team and as a CoSIDA first team District 2 Academic All-American. The Dukes have earned a spot on the AVCA Team Academic list in three of the past four seasons. 2003-04 Top Five NCAA Division I Team GPAs
