Homan Named Atlantic 10 Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Liz Homan has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row and third time overall this season.

Homan had a career-high four digs and 27 attempts while hitting .444, registering 13 kills and recording only one error in Duquesne's 3-1 win over La Salle on Sunday afternoon. She added 13 kills and hit .348 with only three errors on Friday night against Temple. Homan also tied her career-high with a pair of solo block against Robert Morris on Oct. 1.

She becomes only the third player to win back-to-back A-10 rookie of the week honors joining Sarah Morrow (Sept. 5 and Sept. 11, 2000) and Sarah Brown (Sept. 23 and Sept.30, 2000). Only Brown (four times) had been named A-10 ROW more times. Current Dukes setter Chelsea Tillotson was honored three times in 2006.

Duquesne will take to the road for the next three matches beginning Oct. 10 at Fordham, Oct. 11 at Rhode Island and Oct. 16 at Saint Louis.
