Haeg and Tillotson Named to A-10 Weekly Honors

Duquesne senior outside hitter Amanda Haeg (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) and freshman setter Chelsea Tillotson (Adrian, Mich./Tecumseh) have been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Volleyball Co-Player and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the Conference office. It is Haeg's second weekly honor and the Conference-tying third for Tillotson who was also named Sept. 25 and Oct. 9.
Haeg averaged 3.88 kills, 4.00 digs and 1.00 blocks per game as the Dukes went 2-0 on the weekend, which included a 3-1 upset over Saint Louis. She was second for Duquesne with 16 kills and added eight digs vs. SLU and posted a match-best 24 digs while adding a team-high 15 kills and five blocks in a 3-1 win against Rhode Island. Haeg took over the Duquesne single-season kills record vs. the Rams with 448 and her 1,128 career kills moved her into seventh all-time in the Duquesne records books. Haeg is fifth in the Atlantic 10 with 3.96 kills per game and ranks seventh with 4.05 digs per game.
Tillotson takes her third A-10 weekly honor after leading the Dukes to their 2-0 record this past week averaging 11.38 assists, 2.62 digs and 1.12 kills. She hit .450 on the week recording no hitting errors while taking 20 swings. Tillotson had 44 assists, four kills and 10 digs in the 3-1 upset of Saint Louis and posted 47 assists, five kills and two aces against Rhode Island. She hit .566 (5-0-9) vs. the Rams and .364 (4-0-11) against SLU. Tillotson is eighth among Conference leaders with her 10.12 assists per game average.
Duquesne returns to action this weekend traveling to league-leading Dayton Nov. 10 and Xavier, which is tied for second in the West, Nov. 11.
