Volleyball Set for A-10 Championship

Duquesne is hosting the 2012 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship that begins Friday afternoon at the A.J. Palumbo Center. Six teams will be competing for the conference title that will be awarded Sunday on the CBS Sports Network.
The first quarterfinal match matches begin at 4:30 p.m. today in a match between the league's two newest members - #6 VCU and #6 Butler. The #4 seed Dukes face #5 Temple at 7:00 p.m.
The Dukes-Owls winner advances to face #1 seed Dayton at 3:30 pm in tomorrow's semifinals. UD, who went unblemished during conference play, has won back-to-back-to-back A-10 titles.
The VCU-Butler winner will play #2 seed Xavier at 6:00 pm in the second semifinal tomorrow.
The semifinal winners advance to the championship match that begins at noon on Sunday. The winner receives the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
There is no charge for admission to the three-day, single-elimination tournament to support those located in the northeast impacted by Hurricane Sandy. In addition, the quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be streamed live on Atlantic10.com and the championship final will air on national television on CBS Sports Network.
