Duquesne Raises over $2,600 with Dig for the Cure
Dec. 1, 2005
The Duquesne University volleyball team helped in the fight against breast cancer with its "Dig for the Cure" program to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Dukes took pledges and donations for each dig accumulated during the October 23 Atlantic 10 match-up with Fordham and the results were phenomenal.
The Dukes' recorded 51 digs in their match vs. the Fordham Rams and raised an amazing $2,607 which will be donated to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This is the first year Duquesne has sponsored the fundraiser.
The "Dig for the Cure" campaign was brought to DU by Atlantic 10 newcomer Charlotte who originally started the program in 2003 by 49ers Head Coach Lisa Marston.
