The women's cross country team defeated four of six opponents at the Duquesne Duals Saturday morning at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park. The Dukes topped St. Bonaventure, Carnegie Mellon, Penn State-Altoona and Wheeling Jesuit while losing to St. Joseph's and Pitt.

Carrie Hucko (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny / Miami-OH) paced Duquesne as the junior grabbed third place in the 70-runner competition. Two freshman finished in the top 15 with Tara Gerlach (Erie, Pa. / Villa Maria Academy) taking 10th place and Rebecca Stearns (Rochester, NY / Brighton) finishing 15th.

The Dukes return to action in two weeks when they travel to Canton, Ohio, for the Malone College Invitational on Friday, September 20th. Malone, an NAIA program that is ranked ninth nationally, has also invited Kent State, Ohio University, Youngstown State, Robert Morris, Point Park College and California (PA) to the two-day event.
