Dukes Finish 11th at NCAA Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Paced by a 23rd-place finish by senior Jenny DelSignore (Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home), the Duquesne women's cross country team placed 11th out of 28 teams at the 2017 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships Friday. The meet was hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Cross Country Course. 

The Dukes tallied 369 points on the day, while Penn State won the regional with 31 points, Villanova finished second with 60 points and Georgetown third with 109. 

DelSignore paced the Dukes with a mark of 20:43.0 on the 6k course, followed by juniors Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) in 70th (21:37.4), Angela Mignanelli (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) in 81st (21:47.4) and Taylor Pletz (North East, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) 95th (22:04.2).

Sophomore Megan Aller (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area) was the fifth Duquesne runner to cross the line in 100th (22:07.5). 

Also competing for the Dukes were freshman Tessa Franchi (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) (126th - 22:30.8) and sophomore Morgan Perkins (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) (145th - 22:45.6).
