Women's XC Selected Fourth in Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - In a poll conducted of the Atlantic 10's 14 head coaches, the Duquesne women's cross country team was selected to finish fourth at the conference championship, the league announced today. 

Two-time defending champion Richmond is the preseason favorite with 12 first place votes, followed by Dayton second with one first place vote, Davidson third with a first place vote, Duquesne fourth and George Washington fifth. 

The Dukes return senior Jenny DelSignore (Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home), who finished seventh at the 2016 A-10 Championship. Classmate Angela Mignanelli (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) also returns for Duquesne, who is ranked 10th in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings. 

The 2017 Atlantic 10 Women’s Cross Country Championship will be hosted by George Mason University at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va. on October 28. The Dukes open the 2017 slate this Saturday with the Duquesne Duals. The action gets started at 9 a.m. at the Schenley Oval.
