Duquesne and adidas Announce Five-Year Partnership

Oct. 24, 2007

Duquesne University Director of Athletics Greg Amodio announced today that DU athletics and adidas America, Inc. have reached a five-year agreement naming the sports manufacturing giant as the official supplier of footwear, uniforms and apparel for all 20 Dukes varsity athletics teams.

"Establishing this relationship with adidas is yet another positive step as we continue to move forward," said Amodio. "In addition to our student-athletes being provided with the best in athletic apparel, our department will also gain a more consistent look. The adidas name is known worldwide for quality and we are proud to be part of an exclusive group."

With the agreement, Duquesne joins an elite collection of NCAA Division I institutions under the adidas banner including Notre Dame, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Kansas, UCLA and Indiana among others. The adidas Group, one of the global leaders in the sporting goods industry, offers a broad range of products with brands such as Reebok, TaylorMade and Rockport in its portfolio.

"We are very pleased to welcome Duquesne to the adidas team," said adidas director of team sales Jo Lucas. "We are happy to have the Dukes as a member of our adidas family."
