Two Dukes Named A-10 Academic All-Conference

Duquesne University's Elizabeth Graham (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and Amy Tucker (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) have been named to the 2003 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Cross Country team as announce today by the league office. It is the first A-10 Academic award for both. Duquesne was the only school to take two spots on the seven-member Academic list.

Sophomore Elizabeth Graham


Graham, a sophomore, finished first for the Dukes and seventh overall at the Atlantic 10 Championship, earning a spot on the All-Conference team with her time of 18:32.7. She bettered her time of 18:59.87 at the A-10 course earlier this year at the La Salle Invite and was the Dukes' top performer in three of her six races. Graham placed eighth overall at the La Salle Invite and posted a season-best time was 18:32 at the Duquesne Invitational where she placed third overall. Graham owns a 3.61 GPA in finance. Also a member of the Dukes track & field programs, helped set new DU 4 x 800 relay records for both the indoor and outdoor seasons last year and was a bronze medalist at A-10 outdoor championships as a member of the 4 x 800 relay.

Tucker boasts a 3.94 GPA in physical therapy and finished third for the Dukes and 25th overall at the A-10 Championships with a time of 19:35.8. The junior posted a personal- and season-best performance at the La Salle Invite crossing in 19:05.06 to place 10th overall. Tucker posted her best 6-K performance with a time of 23:20:04 to take 23rd overall at the Spiked Shoe Invite. She finished second for the Dukes in two meets this season. She is also a member of the Dukes' track & field program.

Duquesne finished fourth overall at this year's Atlantic 10 Championship.
