Tryouts for the 2016-2017 season will be held on Saturday April 9th in the Auxiliary Gym of A.J. Palumbo Center. Registration will begin at 8:30 AM, and tryouts will run from 9:00 AM to approximately 4:00 PM. Cost is $20 per non-returning squad member, $10 per returner, which is due the day of the clinic. Checks can be made payable to Duquesne University Cheerleading.
While being at the tryout is preferred; if any cheerleader cannot physically attend the tryout, we ask that a video be submitted. This video and application must be received one week prior to the tryout date, and should include: one sideline cheer, one dance of four 8-counts, tumbling skills and stunting skills. For the tryout, please dress in black/navy shorts, white top, and hair out of your face. Top girls are required to wear flat sole cheer shoes for safety reasons. During the tryout, each cheerleader will be asked to perform the fight song, one band dance and one sideline, which will be taught that day. In addition to the skills mentioned, the athlete will also need to perform the following:

All squads must be present at the Team Weekend in July. Practices begin with the new school year in August of 2016.
